03. FAQ's

What is the difference between SFP and FFP?

SFP (Second Focal Plane) and FFP (First Focal Plane) refer to different reticle placement options in riflescopes. In SFP scopes, the reticle remains the same size regardless of the magnification level, located in the rear focal plane. This can be useful for maintaining a familiar sight picture but makes the reticle’s sub tensions accurate only at one specific magnification setting.

In contrast, FFP scopes have the reticle placed in the front focal plane, meaning it changes size along with the magnification level. This ensures that the reticle’s sub tensions remain consistent across all magnification settings, making it suitable for range estimation and holdover corrections at any zoom level. However, the reticle’s appearance may vary at different magnifications, which some shooters may find less intuitive.

I’m having trouble seeing a clear picture. Is there anything I can adjust to fix this?

Yes! Before contacting us for an RMA for a blurry picture check that you have adjusted the eye piece. Riton’s Fast Focus Eyepiece is located at the ocular end of the scope distinguishable by its colored knurling. To adjust this eyepiece twist counterclockwise while looking at a white piece of paper or a blank wall until the reticle is clear.

How do I bore sight my Riflescope?

Place the rifle solidly on a rest and remove the bolt. Sight through the bore at a target approximately 25 yards away. Move the rifle and the rest until the target is visually centered inside the barrel. With the target centered in the bore, make windage and elevati8on adjustments until the reticle crosshair is also centered over the target. (If a laser bore sighting or any other similar device inside the bore was used, it must be removed before firing. An obstructed bore can cause serious damage to the gun and possible injury to the shooter.)

Can I use other mounts and rings with my Riton Riflescope?

You can use other mounts and rings for Riton Riflescopes, but we suggest using the high-quality rings and mounts that can be found on ritonoptics.com. Make sure you get rings or a mount that matches the diameter of your riflescope.

What are the torque specifications for Riton Optics?

We suggest always using the torque information from your rings to ensure the best fit without damage to your scope. Riton products require torqueing of 15-18in/lbs for rings and mounts.

Do your products have a warranty?

Before contacting Riton make sure that you’ve done some troubleshooting. Most problems that are thought to be associated with your riflescope are actually mount problems. Make sure your mount is the right size and that the screws aren’t torqued too hard on the mount.

Our Warranty is Simple:

  1. Justin Houser

When I received this scope I has hoping for the quality as I got from the other one and I was glad that the quality stayed true. I looked through it into my back yard and was already glad I purchased this one. Compared to the others I have it blows them out of the water.

  2. Robert G

Phenomenal product. If your looking for a great quality scope at a more than reasonable price, this is it. If this is an example of the type of workmanship that Riton puts out I’ll be buying more and recommending them to friends. I can’t say enough good things about it. USMC (ret).

  3. Zach Ireland (verified owner)

Great optic for the money. Reticle isn’t nice and clear. Love the dot right in the middle for real precise aim.

  4. Zach Ireland (verified owner)

Great optic for the money. Reticle is nice and clear and the dot right in the middle is great to get your rifle sighted in and fine tuned.

  5. Ron Ingram

One of my favorite Optics from Riton is the X1 6-24×50 in SFP. I choose this optic for my Savage 12 FTR in 308w that I use in midrange Ground Hog compition matches. The X on the target is very small. The need for clarity along with a small center on the retical is critical for POA offset to POI. Riton Optics produces the perfect match for the task at hand.

  6. Robert Davis

I opened the box for tis scope and said wow what a good priced scope for the money , 1/4 moa and a turret and scope covers already installed you can’t beat this scope put this scope on a 270 wsm for a deer hunting application and it has performed flawlessly , great starter scope for the younger generation to get started with a turret scope and adults

  7. Jason Weinbender

This is a fantastic scope in this price range. Glass is amazingly crisp and clear, turrets are rock solid and the zero stop is a down right excellent feature. Very happy I decided to give it a try over the other brands I already have on other rifles. Will be switching everything over to a Riton.

  8. Mike D

My new favorite optic. The HD glass is legit and the turrets are extremely tactical and crisp. Includes a true zero stop option and throw lever. That alone is worth more than you’ll pay for it but it keeps getting better with a ultra thin SFP reticle that is perfect for close to long range shooting. Easily the best 6-24×50 I’ve used under $500

  9. Josh Weese

After seeing Riton is owned and operated by veterans and law enforcement I wanted to buy from them to help support them, and they also had great reviews, etc, so I decided to give the X1 Conquer 6-24×50 a “go” for one of my varmint rigs… DANGGG was I taken back by the clarity, just AMAZING.. clicks are very crisp and audible, not mushy at all, variable power adjustment is buttery smooth, numbers on windage and elevation are bold and easy to read, the reticle is clean and practical but not overly busy.. whoever reads this review you’d better freaking believe that you’re getting TWICE THE SCOPE you pay for!!! I will definitely be getting more of their stuff for sure, and I’m super stoked 👍👍

  10. Delbert

Mounted my new 1 conquer 6-24×50 today on my savage 6.5 creedmoor can’t wait to go to the range and try it out the scope was what I expected it to be clear scope I own as a retired veteran myself I knew I was buying a quality scope thank you raton team for your service and the service your providing today you have a life long customer.

  11. Delbert T.

I finally got to sight in my scope it took 3 shots to zero in at 100 yards. the glass is the clearest of all my scopes I am looking forward to deer season now. I am planning on buying another conquer 1 scope for my 3006 they are worth every penny if your on the fence about buying one I will say you will not be disappointed at all.

  12. Rock

I have purchased two of these scopes and LOVE them ! One is mounted on a .224 Valkyrie and the other on a Ruger Precision 6.5 Creedmore, BOTH are easily one hole long range capable. Extremely clear optics and DEAD ON repeatability. Fit and finish is perfect. They have a replacement not repair warranty. One had a broken front cover , I called them and had a new one in 3 days, GREAT people to deal with IF the need ever arises. I was RITON hooked at the first buy, you won’t be left down by them !

  13. Tim Schaer

I own 3 of the 1Conquer and they are great. 1 on a 22lr, 1 on a 223, and 1 on a 308. Each perform perfectly. If i need another scope it will be a Riton.

  14. rge8

Fantastic Scope, holds a very good zero, glass is crystal clear. I love it. I shoot out to 1,000 yards with this scope. I’m not buying anything else anymore.
