03. FAQ's

I’m having trouble seeing a clear picture. Is there anything I can adjust to fix this?

Yes! Before contacting us for an RMA for a blurry picture check that you have adjusted the eye piece. Riton’s Fast Focus Eyepiece is located at the ocular end of the scope distinguishable by its colored knurling. To adjust this eyepiece twist counterclockwise while looking at a white piece of paper or a blank wall until the reticle is clear.

How do I change the battery on my illuminated scope?

To change your battery, unscrew the outer cap on the illumination/parallax knob, then replace it with a CR2032 battery. The illumination knob has 6 stops with off switches in between.

How do I bore sight my Riflescope?

Place the rifle solidly on a rest and remove the bolt. Sight through the bore at a target approximately 25 yards away. Move the rifle and the rest until the target is visually centered inside the barrel. With the target centered in the bore, make windage and elevati8on adjustments until the reticle crosshair is also centered over the target. (If a laser bore sighting or any other similar device inside the bore was used, it must be removed before firing. An obstructed bore can cause serious damage to the gun and possible injury to the shooter.)

Can I use other mounts and rings with my Riton Riflescope?

You can use other mounts and rings for Riton Riflescopes, but we suggest using the high-quality rings and mounts that can be found on ritonoptics.com. Make sure you get rings or a mount that matches the diameter of your riflescope.

What are the torque specifications for Riton Optics?

We suggest always using the torque information from your rings to ensure the best fit without damage to your scope. Riton products require torqueing of 15-18in/lbs for rings and mounts.

Do your products have a warranty?

Before contacting Riton make sure that you’ve done some troubleshooting. Most problems that are thought to be associated with your riflescope are actually mount problems. Make sure your mount is the right size and that the screws aren’t torqued too hard on the mount.

Our Warranty is Simple:

  • Riton Optics Lifetime warranty will cover all variable rifle scopes (non-electro-optics) and accessories, the 2-year warranty will cover electro-optics.
  • The Riton Optics warranties will cover all owners regardless of original purchaser.

  1. Larry Boucher

Glass is very clean and clear what you would expect to see on a high end unit not mid line. I installed this on a DDM4 and shoot sub MOA out to 300 yards all day long. It is very clean looking and the finish is top notch. This unit is a lot more than I expected for the price. Glass I would rate just a bit behind my NF glass but 1/4 the cost.

  2. Mica LaGross

I want to start with saying Riton’s Customer Service is excellent! I reached out with a few questions through email and heard back within a few hours! This, to this point, is my favorite optic with a great reticle for my AR. The glass is unbelievable for an optic in this price range.

  3. Rand Martinez

I’ve tried a few lpvo over the last few years and was never able to get fast acquisition on target (it was horrible) but a few weeks ago this X3 Tactix 1-8 FDE caught my eye and I decided to bring it home not expecting to much from it and not expecting to give it much range time. Holy####! The X3 has not only become my favorite optic it’s on my EDC replacing an mro. Everything about it is fast, crystal clear glass, great reticle, weighs nothing and looks good doing it. 100yd 1.5 moa all day long w/no effort. The only con is at “0” it fish eyes, the view is large enough that I’m able to look past it so it’s not a deal breaker. I highly recommend for CQB/EDC.

  4. Kris Skelly

I picked up the X3 Tactix 1-8×24 specifically to go on my coyote calling rifle a WK-180C ( Canadian legal AR variant). The stand out features of the scope: illuminated reticle, quick target acquisition, large FOV. This is going to be phenomenal for coyote hunting. This scope tracks extremely well and was a breeze to get sighted in. At a 8” gong and 200m I was ringing it every time and at 8 power at that distance the FOV is perfect for a hunting scenario, this has helped my rifle improve on and maintain “minute of coyote”.

  5. Albert Seybold (verified owner)

My absolute favorite optic in the Riton lineup. This thinkg is tough and rugged. I have put this through it’s paces over the last year and I am still trying to figure out how Riton can sell such quality for so little. High density glass that is as clear as day, capped turrets with an extremely positive detent, excellent tracking out of the simple yet highly effective reticle. The x3 tactix 1-8×24 lives on my go to rifle and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  6. David

Got to play with one of these bad boys a few weeks ago. Everything an LPVO should be, nothing it shouldn’t be. Simple to use, precise, and balanced well. Can’t wait to grab one up when they’re back in stock!

  7. Ryan Grube

I am a huge Riton fan and this is my newest addition but another on the way!! I put this on a Marlin 1895 45/70 for hunting, I have shot the hottest loads and this scope can handle anything!! so bright in low light I that I rarely turn on the illuminated reticle but when it is needed it gives the perfect amount of light to still see your target. They have some of the clearest optics out there and hands down the best warranty and being Veteran and LE owned is just a huge plus!! I will continue to support them and love every scope and red dot I have bought!! Vortex who??

  8. Oddball

Bought this to put on a 12.5″ AR Pistol in 6.8 SPC for deer hunting out to 150-200 yards. Excellent clarity for reaching out and a fine enough center dot in the reticle to shoot sub-MOA at 100 yards. The more I use this thing, the more I like it, an excellent choice for SD or hunting.

  9. dol.outdoorsman

I took this scope to the range while training with a US Special Forces Detachment. It zeroed well and the glass is clear! What I was surprised about was the lit reticle. I didn’t think a lit reticle would have made a difference in the bright sun during a hot Colorado day. However, it does make a huge difference! I found that I could acquire the reticle faster when lit than not lit. I had to use full power, but it does make a difference.

  10. Gregory Evans

When I got this in the mail I was stoked. Not only is it a solid piece of equipment, I really liked that it was on the heavier side. This to me tells me that it will be rugged enough for any environment. What I loved about the reticle is that is has the traditional horseshoe/dot aiming point along with windage and elevation holds extending past the center dot. I like the fact it is illuminated, but I don’t see myself using it much, but I may. The windage and elevation adjustments are very tactile and not mushy. I have not used it in the field yet, but I will update as soon as I do.

  11. Stephen

I already had your X1 red dot on my AR15 and I am very happy with it, love the quality and price as well as the functionality, I just recently bought the X3 scope and I absolutely love it, thank you for making such a quality product at an affordable price.
I will keep buying from your company. happy to support a veteran owned business, my 94 year old father is a WWII vet.

    Thank you.

  12. Zayne

This is an excellent optic. The clarity of the glass rivals that of some of the highest-end scopes out there for a fraction of the price. It has a great reticle with bright illumination. I absolutely recommend this LPVO to anyone looking for a great optic for an even better price. Looking forward to purchasing more Riton Optics.

  13. Drew

Replaced my Vortex StrikeEagle with this Riton X3 and all I can say is wow. Worlds better than Vortex. Super clear and amazing retictle. I use it on my 3 gun rifle with a 45* mount Riton PRD

  14. Michael Kocher

Wow!! Just WOW!! This thing is a beauty! Everything about it is totally amazing; the clarity of the glass, the various levels of brightness, the overall quality of the construction are all AMAZING. I’ve been using this optic on a 3-gun AR15, during which the rifle and the optic get beat up quite a bit, always holds its mark. I have her attached via the Riton QD mount. Just love them both. Great job Riton!

  15. patriotperfect

Update: this thing is super accurate and so easy to adjust. I put this on my “tactical” hunting field rifle (18 inch barrel bolt action with suppressor) and it was spot on everywhere I shot. I made the precise adjustments and it shot right where I needed it to be. Quick and easy sight in. Now on to the field for some work.

  16. Matt J

Possibly my favorite optic. Love the reticle. This on a 300 Blackout is absolutely awesome!! Glass is clear and crisp and bright. Everyone who looks through this scope loves it!!

  17. Brian S Patterson

I picked this up a few months ago for my AR. So far I’ve been pretty impressed with it. What sold me was the customer service of Riton. One of the guys at a local gun shop here in Tucson told me to check them out. I walked into their showroom and was greeted by one of their guys. Absolutely first class treatment by Riton. I’ll definitely be in for more of their products. Keep it up guys!

  18. Scott

I mounted this on my old 182 series Mini-14 and can’t be happier. I don’t know a lot about firearm optics, but this piece of glass does everything I expect of it, stays zeroed on a mini-14 (which is challenging), and the price was reasonable.

Veteran owned, stellar customer service, and excellent products. Seems like a business worth supporting!

  19. Derek

I purchased the 3 Tactix 1-8 in January 2022. To be honest it was an impulse purchase as I was shopping for a red dot. I installed the scope on a 16″ 5.56 Olympic K3B and zeroed it.
I can say I am extremely happy with it. So far I have taken multiple hogs at different distances in day and night.
I will be purchasing more optics from Riton in the future.
